Every 4 years, La Bayardine organises the Saillon Medieval Festival. The town’s historic ramparts provide the ideal backdrop for a journey back in time to the Middle Ages.
La Bayardine is a society that promotes the customs and traditions of the medieval era. Active since 1983, it brings together around a hundred enthusiasts. Every 4 years, it puts together the programme for Saillon’s famous medieval festivals, which bring together more than 500 artists: actors, musicians, dancers, archers, falconers, craftsmen, acrobats, cooks and noblemen.
The next Medieval Festivals will take place in September 2029 or 2030.
A medieval epic
Medieval camps, falconry, ancient embroidery, costume hire… All year round, La Bayardine offers events that highlight the Middle Ages. In summer, you can watch falcons and owls feeding and flying. Dinners and embroidery workshops are also regularly organised.
