Saillon is taking part in Heritage Day 2026, with the theme ‘in peril’.
Theme of the tour: Saillon, a village saved from the waters and the passage of time
Transformed over the centuries and marked by the disappearance of its castle, the medieval village of Saillon bears witness to a fragile heritage, shaped also by the changing course of the River Rhône and its surrounding landscape.
As you wander through the narrow streets, this tour invites you to discover the still-visible traces of the past, the preserved features and the stories they tell. It also highlights the current initiatives that bring this heritage to life and keep the traditional skills of yesteryear alive.
Practical information:
- Dates and times: Saturday 12 September at 10.00 am & Sunday 13 September at 2.00 pm
- Venue: Starting from Place des Remparts (free car park)
- Number of places available: 20 people (per date)

- Children under 10 do not need tickets. They remain the responsibility of their parents throughout the tour.
