Discover Saillon’s emblematic vegetable on a tour of the Spycher family’s asparagus groves. Labelled the Cité de l’asperge (City of Asparagus), the destination celebrates this flagship product for which the region is famous.
This experience takes you behind the scenes of a demanding crop, where know-how, patience and respect for nature are essential. From harvesting in the fields to sorting, peeling and serving on your plate, you’ll discover all the stages involved in making asparagus sublime.
It’s a unique opportunity to meet the men and women who grow it, and to gain a better understanding of a profession intimately linked to the rhythms of nature.

- Total duration of the activity: 1h30 (journey and visit)
- Journey from the Asparagus Festival by mini-train to the Spycher estate
- Approximately 1 hour to visit the asparagus plantations and discover the different stages of production (harvesting, sorting, peeling)
- A complimentary glass of wine after the tour (or fruit juice for children)
- Return by little train
