The embroidery depicts the tragic love affair between Anselme de Saxon and Guigone de Saillon. Over 16 metres long, it was created thanks to the commitment of 250 volunteers who came together to put in 5,200 hours of work.
This creation is much more than just a work of art: it has become the main theme of the next Fêtes Médiévales de Saillon, whose theme is “The Thread of Destiny”. It embodies the spirit of solidarity, cultural transmission and highlights the local history beyond the simple decorative art.
