Easy
Though comprising the smallest vineyard in the world at just 1.618 square metres, the three vines at Farinet – Fendant, Pinot Noir and Petite Arvine – are worked every year by celebrities and personalities from the arts, politics, sport and cinema.
The few decilitres of juice these three varietals produce are blended with juice donated by a local proprietor/winemaker to result in the 1,000 bottles of Cuvée Farinet wine sold annually in aid of charity. Every year sees a hundred bottles or so sold at public auction.
A meditative trail
The stained glass trail is dotted with 21 artworks created by the glassmaker Théo Imboden, who based his work on drawings by the painter Robert Héritier. The memory of Farinet lives on along the route, which takes some 55 minutes to complete from Place Farinet to the vineyard. Although inspired by episodes from Farinet’s life, the trail provides an opportunity to reflect on human values such as sharing, justice, listening, contemplation, destiny and more.
